101 storie di camorra che non ti hanno mai raccontato.

By Bruno de Stefano

This book has been important in my life because it is based on one of the biggest problems of my home town, the Camorra (local Mafia).

Since I was a child it has been quite difficult to grow up in an inviroment full of bad examples. Unfortunatelly cammorra is used as example for many young guys in Napoli. This book helped me to understand the history of the Camorra in my city and all the crimes they committed since after second world war period.

Rich dad poor dad

By Robert T Kiyosaki

This book by Rober Kiyosaki its quite important for me for two resons. First of all it has been given to me from my father. Secondly it is the book that introduced me to the world of finance.

This book contains the real basis of finance and business. It is a tutorial for people that want to make money in life. It explains what is the correct attitude to have a successful financial life without encurring in stupid mistakes.

The Handbook of Design Management

This book also indicated as the first text book of Design Leadership has had a fundamental role in my learning process during this module. The book clearly explaing Design management conceps and how they evolved during the time. The chapter that had the biggest impact on my learning process has been chapter 2 where the author with simple examples made me clear the importance of a design management approach in the modern era.

Design Management

Managing Design Strategy, Process and Implementation

By Kathryn Best

This book is the second text book indicated for design leadership. This book helped in my learning process because it has been easy to undertand. It makes design management processes logical and structurated. Thanks to this book it is possible to understand the different satges of design management from strategy process and implementation.

The use of key studies in this book made me understand the theoretcal notions much faster.

Fundamentals of Design Management

By Kathryn Best

This book has been written from Ms. Best the author of one of the raccomended books for Design Leadership. This book is in my opinion much basic than the other. It explains the basic concepts of design first and than goes in to the specific with design management ideas. It has been useful to understand some of the basic concepts that sometimes are not so clear expecially for a finance student like me. It is an useful book to keep when reading more difficult books. I would define it a book of support.

Managing as Design

By Richard J. Boland Jr. and Fred Collopy

I think that this book its important for any management student that wants to understand the importance of design. The book has been an ispiration and a guide for design leadership presentation (see presentation in own projects section). The book trys to explain with the use of many key studies how till today management focused too much on strategy and less on design. The book is less easy for those that are not familiar with the subject but appered really interesting to me.

Design in Business

Strategic Innovation Throughout Design

By Bruce and Bressant

This book represent the perfect explenation of how design in businees should be approched and used.

It is possible to argue that this book is the perfect summary of the concepts explained in Design Leadership presentation (see Own projects).

Reading some chapters of this book it has been clear how design has to be part of every action in a business. It doesnt have to be a separated segment whitin a company, but, has to be part of the general strategy and business plan.

Culture and Internet Consumption:

Contributions from Cross-Cultural Marketing and Advertising Research

By Marc Hermeking

This journal article is mainly focused on the differences in usage of internet as medium within different coultures. It has been really useful when analyzing the effects of globalization when designing a marketing strategy. (see Globalization presentation in Own Projects).

It has been possible to undertand how different coultures see and use internet in different ways. Since today internet technology has been developed with a standardized method, however, this paper shows us that there are cultural and local differences that needs to be taken in account in order to be able to expand internet further more.

The Globalization of Markets

By Theodore Levitt

This journal article is based on the globalisation of markets and its implications for marketing strategies. Levitt theory was based on the fact that given a process of world globalisation, markets are converging in a unique market and marketing has to be carried out with standardized approach. However, many other experts proved exacly the contary showing with many examples that adaptation is the key to success. (see Globalisation presentation).
